AUSTIN FC II CAMPAIGN
When approached for the graphic design role with Austin FC at the end of 2022, they revealed they would launch an MLS Next Pro Team. The team would be a branch of the Austin FC Organization, but they were hiring a designer focused on developing the brand and the creative direction for the team. As this would be the inaugural season, I could not pass up the opportunity as I would have the creative freedom to design and execute an entire campaign from start to finish. It allowed me to flex my creative skills as I tapped into this new role as the lead designer for Austin FC II. 
TELLING A PLAYER DEVELOPMENT STORY THROUGH THE LENS OF AUSTIN
The ATXFCII Creative Treatment follows the primary principles and techniques of the first team creative through a more simplified, soccer focused, and minimal lens. Using paper cutouts, collage, and a custom handmade Action Condensed font, the Austin FC II Brand has a playful feel, lending itself to Austin’s creative core while focusing imagery on player and soccer forward elements.
I wanted to give the creative a simple handmade feel. Almost as if I was a young kid just doingarts + crafts in their bedroom.
BRAND PILLARS
COLLAGE
Carried over from the first team, the use of collage and paper cutouts ties in both brands while giving a lot of flexibility in the design to be playful and mix things up.
HANDSET
Inspired by music posters and art collage, handset style give the imagery a handmade feel while still using clean digital fonts and imagery.
COMPOSITION + MINIMALISM
Strong compositions with a more minimal aesthetic . Clean type, textured background and Austin nods help paint a simplified picture and developmental narrative.
